She often worked as the lead Charge Scenic organizing scenic artist crews or as the Camera Scenic on major feature films and was the Senior Scenic Artist for the Children’s Television Workshop’s “Sesame Street” for a number of seasons. With a growing family and hoping to be closer to home as well as desiring to work with young people, Ms. Asch accepted a job at the Pingry School in Basking Ridge, New Jersey as the resident production designer greatly enjoying teaching middle and high school students to build and paint sets and costumes for over 50 productions. She also taught Architecture and Design as well as Fundamentals of Art in the upper school and retired from this position in 2019. Wishing to give back to the community, in 1989, Ms. Asch became an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) for the Warren Township Rescue Squad in New Jersey and has served that organization in many capacities including as Chief. After the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack, Ms. Asch was asked to become the Deputy Coordinator for the Office of Emergency Management for Warren Township. In 2010, Ms. Asch became the Coordinator, and has overseen many emergencies including disasters such as Tropical Storm Sandy. Currently Ms. Asch is the co-Incident Commander with the Health Officer of the response and recovery for Warren Township to the COVID-19 pandemic.
